Barbara Morrison is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in History and Government and a Master’s degree in Public Service/Public Administration. Barbara has over 20 years of experience in various facets of health care and human resources management including managing multi-site programs for traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, and rehabilitation and long term care. Prior to coming to McKendree Village, Barbara managed one of the largest long term care programs in the state, with programs that included assisted living, adult day care, respiratory and skilled rehabilitation services, a Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTAC) and long term care.
Barbara is an active member of the Tennessee Health Care Association, serving previously on the Board and the Government Relations Committee; she presently serves on the Survey and Quality Committee.
Director of Community Sales and Marketing
Jane Schnelle joined McKendree Village in September 2013 as Director of Volunteers. In June she was promoted to her current position. Jane comes to McKendree with 15 years experience as Director of the local senior center, FiftyForward Donelson Station and Director of The Larry Keeton Theatre.
Jane has served as President of the Donelson Hermitage Chamber, on the board of Leadership Donelson Hermitage, Rotary, Donelson Hermitage Exchange Club and currently serves as co-chair of the Ways and Means Committee of the Stones River Women’s Club. Jane has recently been appointed by Mayor Karl Dean to serve on the Healthy Nashville Leadership Council.
Jane has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Tennessee State University and a graduate degree in Human Relations from Cumberland University.
Suzanne Hogan has been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator since 1994 and in the long-term care industry since 1990. She started as a Social Worker in a nursing home after graduating from college. Very quickly Suzanne realized that working with the elderly was where her heart belonged. She decided to further her career and learn health care administration. She graduated from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN and was licensed in Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Suzanne is originally from Nashville and has lived most of her life in Hendersonville and Clarksville. She now lives in Clarksville with her husband. She has 4 grown children, 2 boys ages 26 and 22 and 2 girls ages 20 and 18. Working as a nursing home administrator is more than a job, but a ministry to her. She feels that she can make a difference in the elderly and disabled by helping them have a quality of life during their golden years. She strives to help people each day and hopes to have a positive impact on their lives. She enjoys being a servant leader. Her goal is to have the wisdom and leadership to help McKendree continue the love and care for the elderly of our community.
Steve Saunders joined the McKendree team as Director of Human Resources in October, 2015. Steve has over 15 years of experience in various areas of Human Resources including employee relations, recruiting, and professional development . Prior to coming to McKendree Village Steve was the Human Resources Coordinator at a local LTACH and also directed a professional development program for MTSU. Steve is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a BSBA and a MDin from Southern Seminary. Steve has served as a board member for many non-profit agencies.
Rev. Dr. Joel Emerson is an ordained pastor and an endorsed chaplain in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He is Board Certified for chaplaincy in the Association of Professional Chaplains. He is a graduate of Belmont University, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, the Graduate Theological Foundation and has done post-graduate work at Trinity Lutheran Theological Seminary.
Anthony Shiffer joins McKendree Village as Executive Chef. Anthony is a seasoned Hotel Manager and Food and Beverage professional having experience as an Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director with Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Wyndham Bay Point Resort and Hilton Hotels. Anthony moved to Nashville 5 years ago as the Director of Food and Beverage at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs and most recently Director of Dining Services for Brookdale Senior Living.
Charlene Kinder is the Business Office Manager at McKendree Village. Charlene relocated from Eastern Kentucky four years ago. She has been in health care 27 years. During that time, Charlene has worked in a corporate office setting in accounts receivable, regional business office co-ordinator, nursing home administrator and business office manager. Charlene states of McKendree about when she first came to the campus “if a job could feel like home…I am home!”.
Susan has over 27 years of nursing experience and 18 years experience in a leadership role, 14 years of which have been in long term care. Prior to coming to McKendree Village, Susan was Assistant Director of Nursing for Christian Care Center and Vanguard Health Care. Susan is a certified wound care nurse as well as receiving her certified professional legal nurse certification in 2008.
Brian holds licenses in EPA Refrigerant Transition, Basic Electricity from Tennessee Technology Center and HVAC certification. Prior to McKendree Village, Brian had 17 years of experience with a large long term care and assisted living organization. His positions included Facilities Management Director, Facilities Management Supervisor and Building Operations Mechanic. Areas of expertise include Life Safety Rules and Regulations, Preventive Maintenance, Commercial and Industrial Construction and Environmental/janitorial services.
Sharon Denney joined McKendree Village as the Director of Admissions for the Health Center, April, 2016. Sharon comes to McKendree with 14 years experience in the healthcare field. Prior to coming to McKendreee, Sharon was the Intake Coordinator for a Nashville Home Health Care Company. She has spent most of her nursing career working with the geriatric population and in Long Term Care.
